Design-for-Manufacturability: Designing and manufacturing high-tolerance parts used in a variety of extreme environments is difficult under the best of circumstances. When those parts are made from exotic alloys such as Hastelloy or Inconel, the difficulties are only amplified. And if you are using a contract manufacturer that lacks the experience necessary to help you identify design challenges brought on by tight tolerances and unique alloys, the pitfalls are many. At Fabrico, we have an engineering and production staff with decades of experience in issues related to design-for-manufacturability. Tool Design: Designing a part for manufacturability means little if the method of manufacture does not utilize the proper tooling and fixtures. At Fabrico, we have a tooling and fixture department that works with the engineering team from initial quotation through steady-state production. Virtually all of our tooling and fixtures are designed and built in-house, allowing us to more capably control schedule and shorten lead times. Tools are given unique numbers and managed through our ERP system to ensure that information about who owns them and the part they are used to make is always at hand.
